Jessie James, which featured Wanted as a number one hit in the Top 40 Singles Charts was moderately successful. Although Decker was always as a singer from the country genre, the album was made and promoted to a broader audience the back of her mind. Decker had to work hard to get control over her music put out after her previous singles were not very well-received. Decker's second studio album was announced with the title Daughter of a Gypsy, or Sweet American Dreams. Mercury had it shelved as three of her country songs failed. She was then released.
